Halloween Dance

From the same series of recordings under the Arc at Earth Media Studios featuring the signature sound of guitars in different tunings. This one is again from Gordon.

Bears

Written somewhere between ’79 and ’81. This was one of my first songs written for the ARC. Recorded at Earth Media Studios on 3/4″ tape in the good old days one take recordings with no pitch adjustment. Great harmonies from Gordon and Craig made this song what it is.

Waterbird

A few weeks ago we went through a number of tapes and pulled some old classics into the system. This is one of Gordon’s songs captured live at either the Commercial or the Park Hotel.

Sweet Company

Well here’s an absolute corker and one for the record books. Gaz and I heard this tonight for the first time in 25 years and we had shivers up our collective spines from start to finish. Kept playing it over and over and over. Wish we were back on that stage. Happy listening to all of you who remember……Gordon.

Night Time

Have been away for a while busy with other things, time to update some stuff.

Here is another unearthed from Craig (Slim). Recorded on portable cassette (oh for the days of grunge technology) at lower Rankin st, Bathurst in the mid ’80’s. Out of a ‘Book for Boys’. Armed with only two guitars, primitive recording device  and good ol’ doc R.

No One Knows

Here’s an unearthed gem from Craig. This was one of my favourites from the latter days of the band. I believe this is a rehersal take, (working out guitar bits and getting the drive right). Recorded on the fly, ’84 at lower Rankin St. Hope you enjoy.

Across the mountains

Searching through some old material amongst discs that wouldn’t play on the mac (but we managed to get some things off) and tapes that hadn’t been ported across and found this old gem written by Craig. Remember, this is 1985-6-7 (not really sure). Recorded to tape, as a rough demo (at Harley’s place?) with a then, very young, Phil Maher (ex Crystal Set) on slide.

A little nostalgia

Somewhere back when the earth was still green, a couple of lads hanging out in the urban sweatfields of Sydney found themselves far, far  away………..but this was before then.
